The second Rozen Maiden doll, who is as adorable as she is eccentric. Not only does she constantly refer to herself in third person, but she also talks about taking her sisters' Rosen Mysticas, though she repeatedly fails in her attempts to do so. She fancies herself as quite the stealthy prowler, and makes a hobby of watching the exploits of her sisters, usually through binoculars. Kanaria's bright, somewhat arrogant disposition makes her the ideal subject for many of the comedic episodes.
Despite this, she is a competent opponent and attacks with a violin that can emit particularly destructive sound waves. Her personality mostly complements that of Hinaichigo, who eventually becomes her good friend and rival; they often debate on whose medium is "better", i.e. prettier. In the manga, she visits the Sakurada home more often than in the anime, and even invites Mitsu, her medium, after Hinaichigo is taken by Kirakishou to fulfill the void left by Hinaichigo.

This was a difficult cosplay. I used a pattern to work on the shirt to ensure that it was a good fit. The 3/4 quarters were made in a similar method to my previous Rozen Maiden Outfits. The jacket was more difficult. It took a few attempts to ensure that the pieces were symmetrical and that it fitted nicely. It was the first time that I had made an umbrella. I bought a cheap umbrella so that I could use the frame and removed the fabric from it. I used the fabric to cut out a template, added white lace and used round wooden beads to hold the fabric in place. I couldn't find the right shoes for Kanaria, so I used the same shoes I wore for Shinku's cosplay. The wig, well, it didn't turn out very well and I was running out of time. In the end, I left the wig as it was and hopefully with more practice, I will be able to successfully curl or style a wig This was the first time I had to curl a straight wig, Overall, it worked which I was happy about. | ||

The dress is looking good. I have finally got the sleeves on. The only thing left is to sew the collar and skirt hem and to add the roses. Will be popping into town to get the right colour thread. I thought I had some but it was too bright.
Then will work out how i would attach the pom poms onto my shoes as I couldn’t find any shoe clips in town or the ones that I have.
What a day!!!Been very busy today so haven’t got any updated pictures just yet. Went into town to purchase materials for this cosplay. Didn’t quite get everything I needed but will pop into town tomorrow.
Purchased the wig today and clipped on the pom poms. 1 more full day to go! The mask is taking shape and just needs to be smoothed out and painted. The prop still has a way to go.
Most of the dress is complete, only the sleeves, sewing the hem and adding the roses left to do. Still haven’t been able to find shoe clips so will need to work out another way to put the other set of pom poms. Need to add the ribbons onto the tights and i’m a little short on the ribbon, so will pop out in the morning to get some more.
Ribbon Roses & Furry Pom Poms
Started working on some of the accessories/items for this cosplay.First thing I worked on was the roses. You can normally buy ribbon roses, however they were not big enough, so I thought I would make them myself. Using the instructions from BurdaStyle which did not require too much work. I made a total of 3 roses and 6 leaves.
As there were no pom poms you could buy that were big enough, I opted to make them. There were 2 methods:- Method 1: How to make Pom Poms from NezumiWorld
- Method 2: Making Fur Pom Poms from The Urban-Aborginal
The two methods are completely different but achieve the same thing. I decided on Method 2 as it was close to pom poms that you would buy. The pom poms were stuffed with toy stuffing to give it shape.
Last minute decisionOn the evening of Sunday 23rd May 2011, I decided that I wanted to make a cosplay for the following weekend. This was mainly due to someone who will be appearing at the event. So after searching for an ideal cosplay, I came up with this one.
After finding a number of good research pictures, I decided that I could make this within a couple days for the event on Saturday.
